Stacey Shepley is a Captain in the Professional Standards Department of Essex-Windsor EMS. She is responsible for the Quality Assurance and KPI reporting for the Stroke, STEMI and Trauma program. In 2018 EWEMS recorded 36 cardiac Saves or survivors and reduced stroke door to needle time from 95 minutes to 45. Program improvements are achieved with coordination, communication and collaboration.

Addressing Paramedic Recruitment and Retention Challenges with the Assistance of the MMI.   The City of Hamilton has an overall goal to improve the diversity of its workforce. Hamilton Paramedic Services has additional objectives to attract high quality candidates who will be engaged in and contribute to a high performing culture. This presentation describes a recruitment and selection innovation – the multi mini interview (MMI) that the City introduced to assess potential candidates for their soft skills.

Trillium Gift of Life Network Marco is the TGLN liaison to the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. He also supports funeral service professionals across Ontario with both in hospital and out-of-hospital donation cases. He is responsible for creating Ontario's first paramedic referral program for deceased donation.

Mental Health Panel

A panel discussion about the Ministry of Labour Occupational Health, Safety and Prevention Innovation Program (OHSPIP) Grant. The grant funds support initiatives centered around the psychological health and safety in the workplace for Windsor-Essex County First Responders. Windsor-Essex gathered together the first responder agencies, hospitals, educational institutions, CMHA, Public Health, clinicians, not-for-profits and others, to get the first responder community mental wellness assistance.  From Peer Support collaborative, to the R2MR train the trainer to the equine therapy at WETRA. A panel discussion from vision to reality.
